Suggestions for people with depression

  • Seek professional help from a person experienced in treating depression
  • Try to eat balanced and nutritious meals
  • Ask for help
  • Try to get at least eight hours of sleep
  • Keep a journal
  • Talk with friends that you believe you can trust and who you think will be supportive of you
  • Join a support group
  • Draw, paint, write poetry, listen to music , take walks outside in the daytime
  • If your family, friends, and significant others are supportive of your recovery please involve them in your therapy program
  • Remember that you deserve pleasure and happiness just as much as anyone else.
